We are seeing very icy conditions and freezing temperatures across all of Derbyshire today.

Roads are extremely slippy and hazardous so if you have a necessity to travel then please drive with extreme caution

⚠️⚠️ Expect ice especially on untreated roads or rural roads.

⚠️⚠️ Slow down - stopping distances can be up to ten times longer in icy conditions.

⚠️⚠️ Avoid sudden braking or sharp steering , as this increases the risk of losing control.

⚠️⚠️ Use lights in poor visibility and make sure all windows are fully clear before driving.

⚠️⚠️ Plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination

⚠️⚠️ Check local travel and weather updates before travelling.

If conditions change for the worst then please consider delaying non-essential travel.
